Who are Simply 7?

Simply 7 has been founded on using clean ingredients, with no added preservatives or artificial flavours. Their belief is you can balance healthiness with taste because in their words if it doesn’t taste good, why eat it? There’s no doubt it’s the perfect time for Simply 7 Snacks to capitalise on the UK’s captive health food market, with their range of delicious Hummus, Kale, Lentil, Quinoa Crisps, made for guilt-free snacking.

What did we do?

When we first met the team, it was clear they were excited to launch in the UK but had a little niggle of nervousness about EU food regulation. US and EU food regulations are completely different so we were tasked with tailoring the packaging design to ensure compliance in the UK and European markets.

 “The team were not looking for a brand overhaul, they just needed some advice and insight to the UK market from an agency on the ground. It can be difficult to grasp a brands design ethos first time, especially when you’ve not worked on the original concept. We’re lucky that our designers work on such a range of projects, across industries, they quickly adapt to brands with completely different approaches to design.”

We made several tweaks in keeping with the wider branding to meet the needs of the European market. This included a number of changes necessary to the packaging in line with changing food regulation.

Anyone working in food will know that the laws are constantly changing and it can be a minefield keeping on top of what can and cannot be displayed on the pack.

Allergens were key to this project as the laws had recently changed and we needed to ensure the information was clearly visible. Packaging can look beautiful, but if it doesn’t meet food labelling requirements then it can’t be used. A costly oversight made by too many brands.
